About Rotek Services
Rotek Services is not a new company. We are the evolution of hard work and growth. Formerly known as Electric Motor Specialists, Rotek Services is the next generation of service excellence in rotating equipment offered by Rotek Services’ owner and president, Brian McNeil.
As marketplace demands change in the future, Rotek Services has proven that we are ready and willing to meet the needs of our customers. Our mission is to be a resourceful partner that our customers can utilize to help solve their rotating and electrical equipment issues.
Brian McNeil graduated from Friends University and aspired to start a career that was both interesting and challenging. Phil Ehrlich, owner of Ehrlich Electric Motors, was searching for someone with a degree in business who was willing to learn the electric motor trade. Brian was hired, beginning his career in the electric motor industry.
Over the next few years, he had the unique opportunity to work in all areas of the electric motor repair shop. This allowed Brian to learn and understand the many processes required in the repair of electric motors. The variety of work and challenges presented during each motor repair helped to develop his passion for the motor repair trade. When Ehrlich Electric Motors was sold to a different owner, Brian decided the time was right to go out on his own and put his mark on the motor repair marketplace.
In 2001, Electric Motor Repair Specialists was born in a 7,000 square foot shop with two employees and one pickup truck. In the early days, owner Brian McNeil became adept at multitasking. During the day, he could be found helping with the motor repairs in-shop or on-site, performing predictive maintenance services on-site, while keeping the books at night. As the company grew, both equipment and staff were added in order to support customer demands.
As the business grew, the small shop became inadequate and a larger facility was required. In late 2005, the company moved from the original 7,000 square foot facility to its current location, which is more than 50,000 square feet. This new facility was the old Ehrlich Electric Motors facility, where Brian began his career. Now he could make it his own. At over 50,000 square feet, Rotek Services became the largest rotating equipment repair facility under one roof in the state of Kansas.
